Hi its Iain, owner and manager of the Clan, Scotland’s Cycle Stunt Team here. After 18 years of fun, it’s time to hang my helmet up at the end of the 2025 season and therefore we’re in search of someone to take the team forwards into 2026 and beyond.
Since 2007 we’ve done thousands of shows and have a thriving lifestyle business for the right person to take on. We’re looking for someone who can front The Clan according to our ethos of showing everyone that riding bikes is the best fun ever.
The Clan has always been about way more than making a living from riding bikes. It’s about being friendly, approachable and putting across incredible riding talents from all ages and walks of life. That’s why we have young riders, male and female riders, apprentices and experts and that’s why we have a team who have been with us for over 10 years. Indeed our very first apprentice who joined us at the age of 5 still rides with us now, 13 years later.
In that spirit, we’d be particularly interested in hearing from someone that this opportunity fits with, even if they aren’t experienced in business. I was supported to begin my first cycling business by a youth business trust 20 years ago and I’m involved in mentoring young people myself now.
We’re also happy to speak to existing bike industry folks about this opportunity. And for our customers, rest assured that the clan will continue with our great vibes and professional approach and the mantle will only be passed on to someone who can continue the good work we’ve begun.
The business itself is seasonal, mostly summer weekends, with a compact rig towed from event to event in a box trailer. It takes only about half an hour to set up or break down and we’ve done all the hard work to design and build the most amazing show and brand to match.
This is not a get rich quick scheme for sure, but there is a great wee income with low running costs and low risk for the right person and we have customers that come back to us year after year. We already have bookings for 2026 and beyond.
Initially, we are seeking expressions of interests by email to info@clanstuntshow.com by August 31st 2025. Within the email we would like you to detail the following:
1. Your name, age and location.
2. The name of your company or the business that you are approaching on behalf of. Or whether this would be a separate or new business that you would run The Clan with.
3. Details of any experience you have in this industry, or any related industry. Also details of your background, in terms of professional work and any cycling-related information.
4. Why you think you would be a good match for the future of The Clan and what skills and what approach you would take to running The Clan.
5. Any supporting links or attachments to support your expression of interest.
6. If you are a young person or are proposing this as your first business, details of why you want to make this your first business and what support you have in place or would require.
7. Any questions you have. Details of how The Clan is currently run, including operations, H&S and insurance and financials can be provided after this initial stage to suitable applicants.
We realise this is a lot of information and we are open to alternative submissions e.g. video or audio if that works better for you. Please email in the first instance to arrange this. After an expression of interest, we will contact you to confirm suitability and to arrange a follow up phone call or meeting.
Regards,
Iain Withers
